You cannot deny people their pain.   They work too hard for it.  They will have it, one way or another. You cannot stand between them and this pain. They will run to it, embrace it and wrestle it to the ground.  They will even call it by name.  These individuals have not discovered the truth about happiness. They think that happiness is the by-product of good clean living, a stroke of good luck or a god given right. How unfortunate for them to be so incorrect. Happiness is a personal responsibility, a sort of self-propelling empowerment program, if you will.

At any rate, I believe that fundamentally I am a happy guy and I try to remember to count my many blessings, if not every day at least as often as I can. So I endeavor to impart this wisdom to you. Try to enjoy that which you have now to the fullest. Your happiness in the here and now will assure your happiness in the future. Remember, we all suffer. It does not make you special.
